loss of administrator account and password

Hi,

We have installed ReportServer to a computer but it's too old
and we need to replace the computer.
The problem is we have not the administrator account and password
and we use multiple reports.
We had the idea to export and then import the reports on the new
server but without the administrator account, it is impossible.

How can we retrieve the reports on the new server?

Thank you in advance for your help

Re: loss of administrator account and password

Hi devweb,

check the
net.datenwerke.rs.authenticator.service.pam.EveryoneIsRootPAM : https://reportserver.net/en/guides/conf … roperties/

This method will disable authentication and log in all users as root.

Then you can set the root password as needed and use the net.datenwerke.rs.authenticator.service.pam.UserPasswordPAMAuthoritative as currently.
Pls note that exporting reports and importing them into another ReportServer version is not supported. The correct way to do this would be to import them into the same ReportServer version, and *afterwards* perform the upgrade: https://reportserver.net/en/tutorials/upgrade-30/

Eduardo

Re: loss of administrator account and password

Hi eduardo,

Do you have an idea of how slow a state's response is ?
in the old server, the result arrived after 10 seconds and now, on the new server, it's 2 minutes !
ReportServer (DEBIAN HyperV VM) is ine the new server windows server 2019.

Re: loss of administrator account and password

Hi devweb,

this depends on memory settings, processor, java, etc. So pls make sure the new server has enough memory. Did you perform a new (manual) installation or did you use the installers?

Re: loss of administrator account and password

Hi Enrique,

you can use the same approach:

eduardo wrote:

check the
net.datenwerke.rs.authenticator.service.pam.EveryoneIsRootPAM : https://reportserver.net/en/guides/conf … roperties/

This method will disable authentication and log in all users as root.

Then you can set the root password as needed and use the net.datenwerke.rs.authenticator.service.pam.UserPasswordPAMAuthoritative as currently.

Eduardo
