Hi,
If I set 'output_parameters' to true in Report Properties and choose an export to EXCEL, all parameters (no matter if there are hidden or not) go to the exported file.
Is there any possibility to decide which one should be written?
Nowadays even hidden parameters are written into a file what in most cases is a problem because usually if we hide parameters in 'Parameter tab' we don't want user to see hidden parameter's values.

What's more I noticed that also all other parameters like headers etc went to file...

Hi Patryx,
we are looking into this in RS-3593.

what do you mean exactly? Can you post an example of "all other parameters"?

Hi Patryx,
we see the problem and are thinking of a solution.
Regarding the "all other parameters", I don't quite get what you mean, please send an example.

Hi Eduardo,
"all other parameters" - I mean Separators.
I suggest to add in future a property in each parameter like "Can be output" so users can decide which one should be visible in output parameters (of course if sb adds 'output_parameters' to Report Properties of the report).

Hi Patryx,
just to let you know we are making some interesting improvements regarding this for the next version.
For now, two improvements are already implemented and will be integrated into the next version:
- The parameters are shown in a different (a second) excel sheet
- The separators are filtered out
I will update here with more improvements when these are ready.

Hi Patryx,
- further, we include a new report property: "output_include_hidden_parameters" for controlling if hidden parameters should be included in the parameter output.

Hi Eduardo,
Can you tell me if this feature is available in the version of preview 3.1.0 you sent me few days ago?

Hi Patryx,
this is not available in the preview version I sent you, but this is already implemented and will be included in the next 3.1.0 preview / beta release.

I understand.
What about output of parameter: separtora, text, header? There will be always visible in output?

Hi Patryx,
no, these will be not included in the output.
In fact, we will have the following in 3.1.0:
output_parameters
output_include_hidden_parameters
output_complete_configuration
if only output_parameters is true, then only the "true" parameters are being printed out. Without separators, text, headers, etc.. If output_complete_configuration is set, EVERYTHING will be printed out. This includes user information, report information, report metadata, global variables, separators, headers, parameters, etc. With other words, everything that you can include in the query.
Both output_parameters and output_complete_configuration will take output_include_hidden_parameters into account.

Eduardo
