Cascade Filter

Is it possible to have cascade filters?

That is, we have two parameters which shows on one dashboard, if we have select one parameter value, is it possible to display only the related values of 2nd parameter?

Thanks & Regards

Re: Cascade Filter

Dear Nayana,
yes it is possible to Cascade datasource Parameters. Check https://reportserver.net/en/guides/admi … arameters/ and here 6.3.9. First define a parameterm P_A. You have to select the parameter P_A dependency in during definition of the dependent parameter P_A. In the definition dialog simply select P_A in the drop down list box and use the parameter P_A in the query definition. It makes sense to provide a default value for P_A to check on P_B during definition.

happy reporting

Re: Cascade Filter

Thanks. We successfully added a cascade filter to the report.
Steps Followed is given below for anyone who might need it.
1. Create a master parameter (Product)
2. Create a child parameter (Sub_Product)
3. Add the master parameter to "Depends On"
4. Add the query of child parameter as below.
     select distinct Sub_Product_Column_Name
     from table_name
where $X{IN, Product_Column_Name, Product} (This will allows the list in the filter)

Thanks & Regards
Nayana
