Update of mail.cf not working

I updated the mail.cf file via Administration->FileServer Root->etc->mail->mail.cf. I double checked that I applied the change.
If I run any of my scheduled reports, I get an error saying that it can't send email, but the error contains information from the old mail.cf file.

Do you have to restart the service to get mail configuration changes to work?
Is there a way to restart the service via the web ui?

Hi bpeikes,

in order to reload the configuration, you have to type "config reload" via the terminal, or restart reportserver if you are using the community edition.
