Excel export not functioning anymore

Using version 2.2.2-5639, since this morning I get errors opening Excel formatted files downloaded from a dynamiclist. Excel says the file is corrupt, error message is:
We found a problem with some content in "". Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? After saying Yes, we receive the message "The workbook cannot be opened or repaired by Microsoft Excel because it is corrupt.

I've tried downgrading Excel but it didn't make a difference. Last Friday everything still worked like a charm. I can't find anything strange in the logs.
Any ideas?

Btw: CSV export still works.

Hello,

Please ignore this post. I had a startup script to change the line.separator and this caused this issue.
