Hi Guys,
Can you help me on how to activate a new user. It recommends that it will send an email. May I know how to configure it. I am using a community version.

welcome to the ReportServer Forum.
If you press the activation button on the user manager for a given user, ReportServer will generate a fresh password and email that to the user's email address. For this, ReportServer will use the email server setup in etc/mail/mail.cf (within ReportServer's internal file system). Hi Sir Thomas,
It is working now, thanks to you. But my problem now I can't login using the generated password that was sent through email it says that "Login Attempt failed."

This is most probably related to insufficient permissions. For logging in a user needs the permission ReportServer Access (see Permissions in the Administration Module). Probably easier (as this permission alone only allows the user to log in, but nothing else) is to add the user to the default role Users (see DEFAULT_ROLES in the Users and Groups part).
