ReportServer Oracle OLAP

Hello!
Help me connect ReportServer to Oracle, please!
I started Tomcat.
I started the ReportServer.
I put in ojdbc oracle driver into tomcat\webapps\reportserver\WEB-INF\lib
I choose "Administration". Then - "Datasources". Click right button and click on the "Relational Database".
URL: 192.168.139.88:1521
name: reestr
Save and click "Test connection". Receive error - The connection test failed.
Error - Could not open connection to: 192.168.139.88:1521 with user: reestr. java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver

net.datenwerke.rs.core.service.reportmanager.exceptions.DatabaseConnectionException: Could not open connection to: 192.168.139.88:1521 with user: reestr. java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver

How I can to connect to database?  Reportserver can independently create OLAP or he need to use any program which can do it?

Re: ReportServer Oracle OLAP

Hi,

did you put the driver into WEB-INF/lib before or after you've started ReportServer? The driver will only be picked up, if it is there on startup.

Cheers

Re: ReportServer Oracle OLAP

I missed this before, the URL is not correct. You need to specify a JDBC connection URL. (However, this only helps if ReportServer is able to pick up the database driver.)

The URL should have the following form (from the Oracle documentation):

The syntax for providing the host, port and SID is as follows:

jdbc:oracle:thin:@<hostname>:<port>:<sid>

For example, the following JDBC URL for the thin JDBC driver connects to my-pc.us.oracle.com on port 1521 with SID of orcl:

jdbc:oracle:thin:@my-pc.us.oracle.com:1521:orcl

Re: ReportServer Oracle OLAP

I am not quite sure, I understand the question. ReportServer supports OLAP reporting via Mondrian. That is, you can create a Mondrian datasource which can then be used as the basis of OLAP reports. See, for example, the foodmart example contained with the demo data.

A different form of OLAP is provided by ReportServer's dynamic list, when you change it to Pivot mode.

Hope this helps.
