Issue with Report Execution: ConfigFileNotFoundException

Hello everyone,

I’m currently using ReportServer CE RS4.7.7-6117 and I’m in the process of migrating from our JasperServer environment.

After completing all the configuration steps, I was initially able to successfully execute a couple of imported .jrxml reports. However, at some point, I started encountering the following error when attempting to run reports:

"The report could not be executed: ConfigFileNotFoundException: Could not find config for reportengines/reportengines.cf"

To troubleshoot, I’ve navigated to Administration > File System, and I can confirm that the file /etc/reportengines/reportengines.cf exists and is not empty.

Restarting ReportServer doesn’t seem to resolve the issue.

Has anyone encountered this problem before, or could anyone provide some guidance on potential causes or further troubleshooting steps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS: I notice that "ls fileserver" doesn't throw results using RS terminal.

Hello JL_Cosir,

The developers say this sounds like a faulty installation and recommend reinstalling.

Ideally, install version 5.

Did you notice any errors during the installation?

I reinstalled the software and everything seems to be working fine now.
