Crystal Report Drill Down using Sub-reports

I'm trying to run a report with an embedded on-demand sub-report but the hyperlink to the sub-report isn't working.

Any ideas?  Is this supported?

Re: Crystal Report Drill Down using Sub-reports

Hi Tom,

is this the same feature as asked about here?
http://forum.reportserver.net/viewtopic … d=713#p713

If not please give me a hint what I need to do to create such a report.

Cheers,
Thorsten

I saw that topic but I wasn't sure if there was anything else you could add.

When I add a sub-report, I want it to be on-demand.   See below.

Re: Crystal Report Drill Down using Sub-reports

I can't try this right now, as this computer does not have crystal installed, but I don't think, that this will work. When viewing crystal reports we export them as pdf and show the result, so I don't see how clicking a link should invoke another report.

Re: Crystal Report Drill Down using Sub-reports

It's possible to create hyperlinks.  So I'm think I can hack this by using the report export (http://localhost:8080/reportserver/reportserver/reportexport) feature and simply link it to another Crystal Report.   Thorsten, what do you think?

Yes, if you generate the links yourself it should work fine. You might also want to read this blogpost

it explains some tricks, especially how to implement the "back"-link
