I Need Advice with Customizing Report Layouts in ReportServer

Hello there,

I am reaching out to seek some guidance on customizing report layouts within ReportServer. I am currently working on a project where I need to modify the appearance of our reports to better align with our organizations branding and user preferences.

I would like to add a custom header and footer to all reports that include our company logo and contact information. How can I configure these elements globally so they automatically appear on every report?

I want to include some dynamic content in the reports; such as the users name or specific parameters that vary with each report generation. What is the best way to implement dynamic placeholders or variables?

I need to adjust the styles and formatting of the reports, including font sizes, colors, and overall layout. Are there best practices or tips for applying consistent styling across different report templates?

Is it possible to create and use custom templates in ReportServer? If so; could you provide some guidance on how to create and apply these templates effectively?

Also; I have gone through this post; https://www.reportserver.net/de/dokumentation/admin-aws-devops-guide-4-6-1/7-report-management which definitely helped me out a lot.

I have explored the documentation and available resources but have not been able to find detailed instructions on these customization options.

Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.

Re: I Need Advice with Customizing Report Layouts in ReportServer

Hi Padrickk,

pls check our customization documentation here: https://reportserver.net/en/documentati … -guide-4-7
"Theming" Chapter and "Theming HTML and PDF Output" sections are relevant.

Also, pls check this: https://reportserver.net/de/dokumentati … erver-s-ui

You can also use scripting for UI customization: https://reportserver.net/en/documentati … -guide-4-7
"Extending the client" Chapter.

Regards,
Eduardo
