Root/Admin Account Cannot Log In

Hello,

Our root/admin account created when setting up ReportServer cannot be logged into anymore. We have tried resetting the password, and are able to get into other, LDAP-tied admin accounts, but not the root one. The error message is simply "Login attempt failed" and nothing appears in the logs.

Version: RS3.0.4-6004

Re: Root/Admin Account Cannot Log In

Hi tcarr,

you can use the EveryoneIsRootPAM for logging in as a root user and setting the password for your "root"'s user.

Maybe you cannot login because your LDAP script does not allow local users (and root is a local user as the user is not a LDAP-tied user). You can modify it to allow local users: https://github.com/infofabrik/reportser … groovy#L36

Pls note that newer ReportServer versions allow much smoother LDAP integration. Refer to the release notes here: https://reportserver.net/releasenotes/RS4.3.0.html where the complete LDAP configuration can be done in the ldap.cf configuration file:  https://github.com/infofabrik/reportser … so/ldap.cf instead of having to maintain two LDAP scripts.

Regards,
Eduardo
