If sn is blank in AD, ldapimport or ldaptest users fails complaining that sn is missing. Is there a possibility that such an error can be ignored or a configuration where blank sn from AD can be imported without throwing error?

1. what reportserver version exactly are you using?
2. what error exactly do you get? can you pls print the error stack ?
3. what is your ldap.cf configuration ? pls post it (take care of not posting the password)

we see the error and fixed it in ticket RS-6653. This will be available with next ReportServer versions.
