Report server as XMLA provider ?

Hi,

I wonder if it  is possible to configure ReportServer as a XMLA provider, I know that mondrian could be configured to be one. I want to test if I can use Excel to access the OLAP datasource I configured in ReportServer.

Hi Iulian,

i'm afraid that is not possible. ReportServer is not a xml/a datasource / provider but a report engine. It produces reports. You can do excel pivot tables with a work around though: Define the pivot table in a jxls template based on an area and the pivot definition will automatically adapt during generation.
