Job Schedule Creation: Report list empty

Hi,

I have newly installed RS4.6.2-6102 on a Ubuntu 22.04.3 box.  The installation was successful by following the "Best-Practice Guide - Installing ReportServer on Ubuntu"
However some thing seems not to work properly, for example in Scheduler when want to create a new schedule, at selecting the report the list is empty: It's not possible to select a report:

report empty list

However I have some reports which are working fine.
I have the same problem for Datasinks, not possible to add one:

datasink

In the tomcat logs, there is no error appearing.

Thanks,

Regards,

Geoffrey

Hi Geoffrey,

i guess that the user doesn't have permissions.  Which user are you using?

Kind regards
Marcel

Re: Job Schedule Creation: Report list empty

Hi Marcel,

Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure that the problem is the permission, I use the root user, and I don't change anything at the permission until now.
On the other hand, the schedule is possible from the report directly:

schedule on report

Re: Job Schedule Creation: Report list empty

Hi Geoffrey,

Regarding your initial inquiry: You need to input the report name into the catalog field. ReportServer then searches for this report. Not all reports are not loaded into the client through this field due to performance considerations. So you have to enter the report you search for.

Regarding your second query: This situation is quite unusual since you're missing the "root" directory for the datasinks. It seems like there might have been an issue during the installation process. The "root" directory should be set up during the initial launch of ReportServer. It's possible that stopping or restarting Tomcat during this initial setup led to the absence of the "root" directory. Please try reinstalling your database by running the delete-ddl scripts followed by the create-ddl scripts. Then, start Tomcat and ensure you don't stop or restart it until you see the login page for your reportserver.

Eduardo

Re: Job Schedule Creation: Report list empty

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback, I didn’t not know this it only works like a Search function, I thought it display the complete report Tree.
However, it seems that this Search function does not work 100% well, some it does not work at all, sometimes it does not find all reports.
My existing Reports:

reportlist

If I search for Truck*, it find the report:

searchtruck

When I search for Item* , it didn’t find it.
searchitem

-For the Datasink there is also something strange, now it is visible with user root after a complete system restart, however it is not visible with my own user, although my user is in Administrator group :

users

Thanks,

Regards,

Geoffrey

This issue likely stems from permission constraints. Please verify using the "haspermission" command whether your user indeed possesses Read permission for this object: https://reportserver.net/en/guides/admi … ermission/. Additionally, please be aware that there might be a brief delay before the results become visible.

Again, this is probably a permission issue. Pls make sure that your "Administrator" group sees your datasinks (has Read permission on its root). Additionally, verify whether your user possesses read permissions on your datasink root. For further details on permissions, you can refer to: https://reportserver.net/en/guides/admi … anagement/

Hello,

Just for information I resolved my permissions issues.

Reading the permission tutorial helped.
