Problem with running reports on new server

I'm trying to move up to the latest version of reportserver, we are currently still on 3.0.3.
I setup a new server (version 4.2.0) and loaded all of our existing reports (all jasper) onto the new server.
We execute all of our reports by URL calls.

Most of the reports fail to run, and I find the exception below in the catalina.out log.
The reports run fine from the URL on the old server.

What could be the problem here?

Re: Problem with running reports on new server

Hi hlynch,

you seem to try to parse "07-16-2022" into a date, the error is:
Cannot parse date "07-16-2022": not compatible with any of standard forms ("yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSSX", "yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSS", "EEE, dd MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss zzz", "yyyy-MM-dd")

You can try to change the format in your report / in your query to yyyy-MM-dd

Eduardo

Re: Problem with running reports on new server

We have over a hundred reports that get generated by URL.
The calls to the old version of reportserver work fine.

Changing the date format for all the reports will be alot of work.

Why does it work correctly on the older server (3.0.2), but not on the newer server?

Is there anything in the configuration, etc of the newer server to alter this behavior?

Re: Problem with running reports on new server

Hi hlynch,

"07-16-2022" is not a standard form, as you see in the error message. Why did this work in old versions? probably because old versions of the libraries parsing the dates did not care about these standards. Newer versions seem to be more strict with this, so they need a correct, standard form.

If the date is inside the URL you are calling, you probably only have to change the URL, not all reports.

Eduardo
