Is there anywhere to download a report template (such as a BIRT .rptdesign file) from Report Server for use by another team member (to allow for others to use the template in their local BIRT or for them to adjust it to create a new/similar report without starting from scratch?).
Thanks
Lynn
Hi Lynn,
in the report manager, when selecting a birt or jasper report you should find a download button in the toolbar.
Cheers

Thanks Arno, yes this exports or downloads the xml but not the rptdesigner file (is that the button you mean?)

Any further information on how we can share report template files with users? (Allow them to be downloaded from Report Server?).

Hi Lynn,
I’m not sure I correctly understand your question. Please take a look at the screenshot below. Is that what you want?

Yes! Thank you. I think we were looking in the wrong place.

Ok, but that doesn’t allow for the ‘resources’ file (such as a CSS file) to be shared.
I can’t add a screenshot here but the resources file is under ‘file system’ .

Oh yes, that’s a little bit inconsistent: To download files from the fileserver click the link below “download file”

Ok, but then users would need access to the ‘file system’ which is not possible.

You could set it up so the user can only see specific folders and only read files. Wouldn’t that do it?
