Does reportserver support mysql 8.0 for the internal database

I am Jeff Potts and I work for Comerica Bank supporting reportserver and we are migrating our current reportserver environment to use the infofabrik reportserver docker image running in AWS ECS using fargate.

Does reportserver support using mysql verison 8.0 or greater as the database reportserver uses for its internal database.

I ask because we are currently using AWS RDS Aurora Mysql 5.7 as the reportserver internal database and its going out of service and want us to use mysql 8.0 or we will get charged for extended support for mysql 5.7....

in our sandbox environment, I switched to use mysql 8.0 and it appears to be working, but wanted to ask the question if reportserver officially supports mysql 8. I tried going on the reportserver online documentation, but all it says is that it uses hibernate and I had a hard time finding if its supports mysql 8 or not. The documentation is very old.

Any guidance or help would be appreciated.

Hi Jeff,

yes, using MySQL >= 8 is supported. You can use the same DDLs as for MySQL 5.
