Locking down RS functionality for a particular Organisational Unit

For a particlular Organisational Unit, we would like to 'lock down' how RS is presented to members as follows:

- A single dashboard, which can not be removed or modified - containing a Report Dadget which should not be modified
- Members of this Organisational Unit should not be able to see/use 'Tools', 'Add Dadget', 'Edit Report Parameters' in the toolbar
- no Team Space link displayed
- no Schedular link displayed

I am struggling to see how I can configure this - any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Locking down RS functionality for a particular Organisational Unit

Hi Aniello,

For a single dashboard, set the permissions for an OU as follows:
1. Create a Dashboard under Dadget library
2. Go to the file 'Dashboard Root' and give the OU the permission 'read'
2. Go to Permissions / Dashboard
3. Switch to the Tab 'Permissions Management' and give the permission 'read' too (and 'execute' to import the dashboard)
4. Go to Reports and gave here for the report, which you want to show on the dashboard, the permissions read and execute

The TeamSpace and Scheduler should not be displayed. Currently we can not hide the buttons Tools, Edit Report Parameters and Add Dadget. But we collect a ticket for this and put it into a new version.

Re: Locking down RS functionality for a particular Organisational Unit

Hi Aniello,

you have to remove permissions for this OU. Check here: https://reportserver.net/en/guides/admi … anagement/ , 3.2.2. Generic rights
For the teamspace link, remove all "TeamSpaces" permissions. For the scheduler, remove all "Scheduler" permissions. You can of course add "deny" permissions to the OU instead of removing the permissions to explicitly ban them.

Eduardo
