Terminal command 'exec' prompts: "Command not found"

Hello folks,

I'm experiencing a very annoying problem with the 'exec' command. The command simply does not exist... When i type in the command, the terminal prompts a "Command not found" response. Any other terminal command listed in https://reportserver.net/en/guides/admi … -Commands/ works normally.

Does anyone gone through the same problem? Do i have to reinstall the reportserver solution? Any advice?

Thanks very much.

Re: Terminal command 'exec' prompts: "Command not found"

Hi,

my guess is that you are using ReportServer Community edition which does not have the scripting extension and hence not the exec command.

Hi Arno,
I'm experiencing a similar issue and I'm using Bitnami machine "Enterprise Edition (Evaluation)".

Thanks in advance,

Re: Terminal command 'exec' prompts: "Command not found"

Hi Walter,

could it be the case that the trial version expired (you should find the details on the License Management page in the Admin Module)? If so ReportServer falls back to the Community Edition.

If this is the case and you require an extension for the trial version, feel free to contact me.

Best Regards,
Arno

Re: Terminal command 'exec' prompts: "Command not found"

As per the tutorial - https://reportserver.net/en/guides/scri … g-Started/
I am facing similar issue where I am trying to create a new script helloworld.groovy and trying to execute the command "exec helloworld.groovy"
Get following error.

Is it because I am using Community edition?

reportserver$ ls
maintenance    tmp
onlogin.d    helloworld.groovy
lib    getstarted
reports
onstartup.d

-terminal: exec helloworld.groovy: command not found

Or simply when I try to execute exec command from reportserver$ terminal, I get "-terminal: exec: command not found "
reportserver$ pwd
/fileserver/bin
-terminal: exec: command not found
reportserver$

Hello rairakesh,

yes, if you are using the community edition (and not the enterprise evaluation), you don't have access to scripts, since the scripting extension is not enabled.

Looked at : https://bitnami.com/stack/reportserver-enterprise
Do you have Trial version for Enterprise Edition? If yes how many days?

Re: Terminal command 'exec' prompts: "Command not found"

Hi rairakesh,

you can download the enterprise evaluation from here: https://reportserver.net/en/download/, for example the bitnami installation. The trial versions are for 45 days. If you need more days, please contact us.

Best regards,
Eduardo

Re: Terminal command 'exec' prompts: "Command not found"

After installing Enterprise edition looked at the application to do configuration, could not find the Configure button.
There is no option to change the port numbers of Apache Tomcat server.xml.
Also Wanted to give an option to enable SSL.

Hi rairakesh,

you can find the configuration files in your installation directory. For windows (and bitnami): C:\Bitnami\reportserverenterprise-3.0.2-7\apache-tomcat
For more information on configuration/administration of reportserver take a look here:
Documentation: https://reportserver.net/de/documentation/
Configuration guide: https://reportserver.net/en/guides/config/main/ and
Admin guide: https://reportserver.net/en/guides/admin/main/

Eduardo
