How to view underlying rows from the subtotals

We are using version RS3.0.2-5855 (2016-05-29-17-55-24) Enterprise edition.

I have a question that I am not able to find an answer for.

I created a report and included a subtotal grouping to get a total at the bottom of the report.

In the report preview, I only see the total/summary with a message that it is from 21465 records.  I am not able to expand to see the actual rows.  I would like to be able to see both, underlying rows plus the total at the bottom.

If I export this into an  Excel, it does contain the total plus all the 21465 records grouped and then I expand them in there to see all rows.

Is it possible to expand this in the preview page to see the underlying records and if so, how?

Thank you.

Re: How to view underlying rows from the subtotals

Hi,
This is exactly the behaviour implemented. We have not implemented preview functions that would allow to see the single rows. The need to see subtotals stems from pretty archaic requirements (control break Report). Do you think it is worth reconsidering?

Re: How to view underlying rows from the subtotals

Thank you Jan for the quick response!

My users are requesting this feature big time.   Now I could ask some of those whose job function is "business analyst" to export it into the Excel and do whatever they want... but for the majority of the users (field users) this is not very feasible or attractive.

I certainly think this feature should be considered.

Thank you again!

Re: How to view underlying rows from the subtotals

Hi newtarget,

I raised a ticket RS-2622 for this purpose and we will consider it for a future release.

Best regards,
Eduardo
